Historic Preservation Commission
The Historic Preservation Commission is comprised of five members, a planning staff representative, inspections staff representative, and a representative from the Historic Staunton Foundation. The Commission assists the City of Staunton in the administration of Section 18.85, Historic Preservation Districts. A Certificate of Appropriateness for exterior changes in historic properties is obtained through a review process by the Historic Preservation Commission. The term of office of the members of the Historic Preservation Commission, other than the member of the council and administrative officials, is three years for an indefinite number of terms.
