Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is comprised of five members, one liaison from City Council, and a planning staff representative.  The Commission addresses the Planning needs of the City.  Members of the Planning Commission review all applications for special use permits and study all proposed amendments to the Staunton City Code.  After a period of review and study of proposed permits and amendments, the Commission conducts public hearings and formally recommends action to City Council.  The term of office of the members of the Planning Commission, other than the member of the council and the administrative official, is four years for an indefinite number of terms.
