Environmental Policy

The City of Staunton is committed to protecting and preserving our environment to sustain our high quality of life, enhance our economic development, and maintain our legacy. Stewardship of the environment will be demonstrated through:

 ¤ Meeting and exceeding all regulatory requirements
 ¤ Preventing pollution by minimizing the generation of hazardous wastes, and seeking alternative methods, products, and best practices
 ¤ Educating and training employees to improve environmental performance and increase their awareness of environmental issues
 ¤ Continuously improving our environmental practices and performance through periodic reviews, assessments, and establishment of objectives and targets
 ¤ Conservation of our cultural and natural resources

The City of Staunton is committed to all citizens and visitors to ensuring sound environmental stewardship, continuous improvement of environmental performance and preventing any pollution. All City employees are considered responsible stakeholders in preserving and protecting our environment.
