2010 Water Quality Report
I am pleased to present Staunton's Annual Drinking Water Quality Report for calendar year 2010. you will continue to note that the water we provided you last year met all state and federal water quality standards. Our staff is committed to providing high-quality, safe and reliable service to you 24 hours a day, while also working hard to protect and preserve our environment. The Treatment Plant continues to be designated as an Exemplary Environmental Enterprise operation by the Department of Environmental Quality. The Plant and distribution system are monitored daily around the clock to ensure our outstanding drinking water reaches your home or business safely and efficiently. For the seventh consecutive year, the water treatment plant has received a Water Works Performance Award from the Virginia Department of Health. These awards recognize those water treatment plants that have produced water with a quality that exceeds minimum regulatory standards (i.e. at least three times cleaner than required), and which operate in an exemplary manner. As you read this report, I hope you will gain greater appreciation of the value of our most precious natural resource, as well as the effort and dedication that goes into delivering it to you every day.
