Purchasing
Purchasing establishes
specifications for materials, supplies and equipment, solicits
competitive quotations on items to be purchased, maintains control over
stores' inventories of the city and procures items used by the city in
the most economical manner available.
Purchasing provides assistance to other departments in preparing requests for proposals (RFP's) and other bid requests. It is a subset of the Finance Department.
