Staunton Recreation's Action Skate Park is located within Gypsy Hill Park near the gym and Lake Tams. Originally constructed in 2003, the skate park was in serious need of an update to stay current with new skate trends. Over the years, generous public donations have made the 2009 revamp possible. The mini ramp (upper right picture above) is the newest addition to the park as construction continues throughout September 2009. Monday to Thursday: 6am-8pm
Friday to Sunday: 6am-dusk

The Staunton Parks & Recreation Department reserves the right to close the Action Park or change the hours as necessary.



-Skateboards, inline skates, scooters and bmx bikes are
-Only persons with allowable equipment permitted on the
  skate pad.
-No spectators permitted on the skate pad.
-Action sports are hazardous recreational activities and
  therefore helmets, knee pads, wrist guards and elbow pads
  are strongly recommended.
-Ride at your own risk. There are certain inherent risks in the
 use of the action park including but not limited to bodily injury
 and/or death.
-Respect others & share the space.
-No glass containers or alcoholic beverages.
-No Smoking.
-Patrons must abide by Staunton Parks & Recreation rules
 and policies at all times.
-Leave no trace-put all trash and recyclables in appropriate
-Swearing, fighting and bad attitudes will not be tolerated.
-Violators will be removed from the park.

Every summer in July, OPERATION "B" STING takes place. The B Sting is a teen event that combines a skateboard competition with a battle of the bands competition complete with great prizes, food and other activities.

Saturday, July 28
4pm-9pm, Gypsy Hill Action Park
*New* BMX Bike Competition!
FREE on-site skateboard competition registration begins at 3pm.
