Astronomy at Stokesville Observatory
In observance of Astronomy Day, we are headed to the
Stokesville Observatory on Saturday, May 14. There
will be a scope clinic before dark for anyone wanting
help with their personal telescope. Club members
will have their telescopes set up and the observatory
telescope will be in operation. Donations welcome at
the observatory. #5519 Depart GHPG at 7pm,
return around 10:30pm. Price: Free. Space

Let’s Go Shopping: Hagerstown Premium Outlets®
Hagerstown Premium Outlets® is a village style shopping center. Brewery Hop on the Brew Ridge Trail: Starhill, Blue Mountain, Devils Backbone, Bold Rock and Wild Wolf
Let’s go brewery hopping! We will spend the day checking out some of Virginia’s finest breweries. Enjoy craft beer; grab a bite to eat, and take-in the beautiful scenery. Rock Climbing and Rappelling at Goshen Pass on the Maury River

Come climbing with us! We’ll head to Goshen for a day of beginner friendly cliffs and the chance to experience climbing with the security of a top-rope and trained instructor. Participants will be provided climbing shoes, helmets, harnesses and all other required technical gear. A suggested ‘what to wear/bring list’ will be provided upon registration. Ages 12+. #5621 Saturday, June 18. Depart GHPG parking lot at 8am; return around 5pm. Price: $60 or Parent/child combo $105 (Includes van transportation, all equipment and instruction). Natural Bridge Park

Join us for an entertaining and educational day as we travel to Natural Bridge Park. Enjoy a stroll on Cedar Creek Trail leading to the Natural Bridge, tour the Monacan Indian exhibit, and head 34 stories deep and explore the caverns. Enjoy lunch at the Summerhouse café or pack a lunch and have a picnic. We will end our trip with a visit to the Rockbridge Center and Gift Shop. Ages: 7+. #5622 Friday, June 24. Explore Downtown Harrisonburg and Food Tour with Rocktown Bites
As we guide you through Harrisonburg’s culinary district, Rocktown Bites! Downtown Food Tours will introduce you to local food establishments, their chefs or owners and allow you to sample lots of enticing bites and beverages along the way. Each of the six food stops will provide an opportunity to see the passion behind the dishes and drinks on the menu with a personalized touch from each restaurateur. Join us for some casual walking, foodthemed talking and delicious eating as we explore! Prior to the food tour spend time downtown visiting the many stores or exploring the Hugo Kohl Museum of American Jewelry. Ages: 21+. #5623 Wednesday, June 29. Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theater Presents Country Roads
Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre is a state-of-the-art German-themed dinner theatre nestled in the beautiful Appalachian mountains of southwest Virginia. While seated in comfortable-lounge style chairs, you will be served a four course meal prepared by the in-house chef and then sit back and relax and enjoy Broadway caliber musical productions. The featured presentation is “Country Roads” a tribute to Country Music and its stars of the past and present. #5624 Thursday, June 30. Depart GHPG parking lot at 9am; return around 7pm. Ziplining at Bryce Mountain Resort
Unleash the excitement of soaring high above the Blue Ridge Mountains! Criss-crossing the mountainside on 11 different lines, this zipline adventure cruises over chairlifts at over 80 feet off the ground. Try to enjoy the view as you fly by at almost 40mph. It takes almost 2 hours to complete the entire guided tour of the mountain and includes a ride on the chair lift to get to the top of the mountain. Ages: 8+. Weight limits: Must weigh a minimum of 70lbs and a maximum of 230lbs. #5625 Friday, July 8. Depart GHPG parking lot at 11:45am; return around 5pm. Price: $59. Register by: June 17

Beginner Caving at Glade Cave
Go underground and explore! This caving trip is great for beginners, mostly horizontal with some crawling. Learn caving safety, underground navigation and all about limestone cave formations. A suggested ‘what to wear/bring list’ will be provided upon registration. Ages 12+. #5626 Sunday July 24. Depart GHPG parking lot at 12:15pm; return around 6pm. Price: $39. Register by: July 8

Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races

Take a trip to the Casino in West Virginia and try your luck! Saturday, August 20. Depart GHPG parking lot at 10am; return around 10pm. #5627 Price: $24 (Includes transportation only). Register by: August 5

Fridays after 5 @nTelos Wireless Pavilion in Charlottesville
Looking for a nice evening getaway with live music and strolling the Charlottesville downtown mall? Then join us as we head to Charlottesville’s Fridays after 5. Have dinner outside at one of the many restaurants and enjoy free live music at the nTelos wireless Pavilion from 5:30-8:30pm.
