Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum- The Udvar-Hazy Center
The Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia is the companion facility to the Museum on the National Mall in Washington, DC. Opened in 2003, its two huge hangars — the Boeing Aviation Hangar and the James S. McDonnell Space Hangar — display thousands of aviation and space artifacts, including a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, a Concorde, and the Space Shuttle Discovery. The Center also offers the Airbus IMAX® Theater and the Donald D. Engen Observation Tower, which gives you a 360-degree bird’s-eye view of Washington Dulles International Airport and the surrounding area. #5830 Tuesday, February 21. Beginner Caving-Kees Cave
This half-day trip introduces basic wild (undeveloped)
caving. Trip is great for beginners, mostly horizontal
with some crawling. Learn caving safety, underground
navigation and all about limestone cave formations.
A suggested what-to-wear list will be provided upon
registration. Go underground and explore! Ages 10+.

Tysons Corner- Let’s Go Shopping!
Tysons Corner Center is home to over 300 specialty and department stores including L.L. Bean, Macy’s, Bloomingdales, and many more, as well as celebrated restaurants, eateries and entertainment options. This is Virginia’s largest mall! #5832 Friday, March 24. Spring Market and Dinner at Cheesecake Factory

This large-scale event provides an optimal shopping experience for all – Think Spring! – gifts for Easter, graduation, birthdays, bridal and baby showers…unique offerings include gourmet food and cookbooks, fine linens, designer clothing, toys, fine crafts and artwork, decorative home accessories and jewelry to name a few. #5833 Friday, March 31. Spring Wildflower Hike and Devil’s Backbone Brewery
Join Naturalist, Kathie Driscoll from The Nature
Foundation at Wintergreen in search of early spring
wildflowers as we hike along the Appalachian Trail
from Tye River through the Three Ridges Wilderness to
the Harpers Creek Shelter. We will have lunch near the
refreshing waterfalls. This six mile hike is rated moderate
to difficult. Wear hiking shoes/boots. Bring lunch and
water. We will have time to visit the nature center and
then wrap-up our adventure at Devil’s Backbone Brewery

The Greenbrier: Lunch and Bunker Tour
Construction began in 1958 on the 112,544-square-foot bunker, which was built 720 feet into the hillside under The Greenbrier’s West Virginia Wing. Over the 30 years that it was an active facility, communications and other equipment were updated, keeping The Bunker at full-operation status. The location of the facility, critical to its effectiveness, remained a secret for more than three decades. There will be lots of walking involved with no available seating during the tour. Lunch will be on your own prior to the tour. Please note dress code for some of the dining facilities. #5829 Monday, April 10. Depart GHPG at 9am; return around 5pm. Intro to Rock Climbing
We will spend the day learning basic rock climbing and
rappelling skills, being introduced to equipment and
top-roping, and enjoying one another and the outdoors
in the George Washington Ntl. Forest. Participants will
be provided climbing shoes, helmets, harnesses and
all other required technical gear. A suggested ‘what to
wear/bring list’ will be provided upon registration. No
prior experience is required, but participants should be
reasonably fit and active. Ages 12+. #5827 Sunday
April 30. Depart GHPG parking lot at 7:30am; return
around 5pm. Price: $60 (Includes van transportation, all
equipment and instruction). Register by: April 14
