The Registrar's Office - Voter Information

The Registrar's Office is responsible for providing and approving applications for voter registration and absentee ballots. In-person absentee voting is available in the Registrar's Office when ballots are ready, approximately 40 days before an election.


The Registrar's Office is always open for in-person absentee voting on the Saturday before all General elections (9 am-5 pm) in addition to regular office hours.

Voter Information (click here) for pertinent voting information. Enter Voter Information site and locate "My Information" tab to personalize by voter id or name and address. This will provide Voter Information like where to vote, what's on the ballot, etc.

The Virginia State Board of Elections website has information about voter registration, elections, campaign finance, election results, and how to locate your polling place.

Becoming a Candidate - Candidates for office must meet certain qualifications and are required to file specific documents in order to qualify to appear on the ballot. These qualifications and requirements may vary slightly depending on whether the office sought is a local office, a general assembly seat, a statewide office, or a federal office.
