Library to host annual Book Sale and celebrate National Library Week

Fine forgiveness and Friends of the Library Book Sale on tap for the spring.

The Staunton Public Library is hosting two, annual spring events in March and April.

The Friends of the Staunton Library Book Sale, one of the Library’s largest annual events, will be held Wednesday, March 29 through Sunday, April 2 with a members preview from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28.

Proceeds from the book sale will go to the Friends of the Staunton Library, a volunteer organization that supports the Library with funding for programs and resources.

Also, National Library Week occurs April 9 through 15, during which patrons can bring back overdue materials without incurring overdue fines and ask staff to waive overdue fines.

“By offering fine forgiveness, we hope to get people back in the Library who may have had late materials in the past,” Arnold said.

Charges for lost or damaged items and collection processing fees will not be waived.
